All divers must register with, and obtain a current Amateur Athletic Union number before attending a practice. This registration must be a valid AB (Extended Benefits) AAU Membership. This is required for insurance with regard to our coaches and team, as well as secondary medical insurance for every diver. The link to the right will take you to the registration site. The AAU insurance program is comprehensive in nature and provides protection for athletes while participating in competitions and practices, coaches while instructing, event operators while conducting sanctioned events, spectators while attending events, and facilities while partnering with AAU members, to name a few.

AAU A/B membership costs $24 for the year and is active from 9/1/2026 to 8/31/2027.

The National Team is divided into two groups: Junior and Senior.

Cardinal Elite: For divers currently competing at a high level who are committed to developing their skills and continuing to progress in the sport, but who may have other athletic, academic, or scheduling commitments. Year-round participation is encouraged, with training that includes three-meter development and opportunities to compete at USA Diving and AAU events. Membership is by invitation only.

Junior Cards: Focused on younger athletes who have a background in diving or have advanced from Future Champions and are ready for continued competitive development. Year-round participation is encouraged, with continued skill development on one- and three-meter and opportunities to compete at USA Diving and AAU events. Membership is by invitation only.

High School: Designed for divers whose primary goal is participation and competition during the high school diving season, September through February. After the high school season, divers will have the opportunity to continue training within an appropriate Louisville Dive Club program.

Future Champions: Structured in multi-week sessions, these classes are designed for divers who are new to the sport and are exploring their interest in diving, and provides a structured growth ladder for development.
